Avium Small Handmade Whisky cabinet

160.00

The Avium whisky cabinet is named after the Wild Cherry (Prunus avium) tree, which is widely thought to be the most ornamental of our native broadleaf woodland trees. These cabinets were inspired by a 19th Century spoon rack, which had a similar style of crest, to showcase the natural grain of the chosen wood.

The listed cabinet is completed and ready for dispatch. It was handmade in my workshop in Kent, using traditional techniques.. The dovetail joinery provides an exceptionally strong frame in to which I hand cut rebates for the shelves. This makes the cabinet exceptionally strong and able to be made in a range of sizes to cater for any number of bottles. The cabinet is mounted to the wall using a metal french cleat bracket, which runs most of the width of the cabinet, allowing for multiple fixings in to the wall. These are similar to fixings used for kitchen cabinets and can be safely used (with appropriate wall plugs / fixings) in all common internal walls including plasterboard.

This listing / price is for an Avium cabinet of the following specifications:

  • Constructed of Oak

  • Will hold 4 bottles on the top shelf and 4 glasses and a measure on the bottom shelf

  • Dimension are:

    • Width 42cm

    • Depth 130mm

    • Height 610mm

In addition to oak and cherry I am able to make them from any commercially available hardwood (e.g. Walnut, Sycamore, Elm, Ash, London Plane etc) and can alter any of the above dimensions. Please contact me for a quote for your custom order.
